Pros & Cons

  • High-volume picking and inventory
  • Cold-store operations
  • Heavy glove work with numeric entry
  • Sites without a spare-unit pool

The report

Two units, bought outright, run against a fixed scan rig and then handed to a logistics crew for six weeks of live picking.

Optics are the strength. At 1,200 scans per hour with a deliberately wet lens we recorded no read failures across a full hour. Range holds to 1.2 m on damaged labels.

The trigger is the wear item. One unit's switch went intermittent at 78,400 cycles, well short of the 100,000 we test to. At a mid-size distribution centre that is roughly nine months.

Glove use scored 62, our lowest of this round. The physical keypad is 11 mm pitch with shallow travel; with a 3 mm nitrile glove we measured an 8% mis-key rate on numeric entry.
